The Transforming Cities Fund (TCF) Programme has delivered a number of exciting schemes across Southampton, particularly within the city centre. With substantial funding from the DfT, the key gateways to the city were transformed, bus routes were improved and projects were delivered to make travel by active modes easier across the area.
This walking tour will showcase our TCF city centre schemes including the Central Station improvements, the Ring Road with its Devonshire pocket park, East Park Terrace bus only and the brand new bus hub at Albion Place with the newly created park.

Safety Information
Under UK law, electric scooters are classified as Personal Light Electric Vehicles and are treated as motor vehicles, therefore you must comply with relevant laws when renting an e-scooter:
-
you must have a valid driving licence or provisional licence and
-
be aged 16 years or over.
Failure to comply with these laws invalidates insurance and can result in an on-the-spot fine or prosecution.
Participants can validate a driving licence at any time within Breeze. You will be asked to provide a scan of your driver’s licence and to make a video and/or to take a photograph of your face. This data will be used to verify your identity and to confirm your eligibility to access certain services (e.g. mobility services which can only be used with a valid driver’s license). You may not be able to use these services if you do not provide this information.
Tour participants are recommended to review the safety training and guidance available here in respect of E-scooter safety - E-scooters
